Due to continued expansion and growth Mick George Ltd are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Ground Maintenance Operative to travel to our sites around East Anglia and the East Midlands. The successful candidate will play a vital role in undertaking all aspects of ground maintenance.



  • Duties will include but are not limited to maintenance of 280 acres of grassland including grass cutting, weed killing, spraying/fertilising, hedge trimming etc.
  • Responsibility for the Health and Safety of themselves, their work colleagues and others who may be affected by their activities, working in accordance with the company’s safety procedures.
  • Ensure the safe use, storage, calibration and disposal of pesticides and other similar substances.
  • To perform any other duties relevant which might be specified from time to time by your Supervisor.
  • The safe operation of a tractor to include grass topping
  • Clearing around shrubs and trees
  • Working on a variety of sites such a Quarries and Waste Transfer Stations.


  • Previous ground maintenance experience
  • Tractor experience using various attachments is essential 
  • PA1 PA6 Chemical spraying will be required
  • Must confident with the use of hand tools 
  • Basic Health and safety Knowledge.
  • Ability to conduct own method & risk assessments.
  • Must be flexible with work hours.
  • Driven to complete tasks above expectations.
  • Trailer Licence preferable
  • Chainsaw licence would be desirable.
